The area around present-day Robeline was the scene of much activity during the early settlement of Louisiana. Europeans first observed the Adai Indians, a Caddo tribe, living near Robeline. Spanish Settlers from the Canary Islands came here as early as 1694 to 1711 and estalished missions among the Adai.
