Mother's Day Weekend

Each year, the tribe gathers at St. Anne Cemetery and at the Cultural Center in Robeline for a weekend of fellowship, maintenance of ancestral graves, sharing stories of loved ones, potluck, and other Mother's Day activities. This origins of this tradition, which has endured for over a century, are from its historic parish church of St. Augustine.

Annual Meeting

Held the day after the pow wow, members gather to discuss tribal business, hold elections, and approve plans for the upcoming year. Reunite with your family and friends, eat, and learn about the history and the future of the tribe. This is the meeting you don't want to miss.

Desiring to forestall the expected second expedition of Alarcon, La Harpe left Natchitoches on March 6, 1719. The next day, he passed a little Yatay (Adai) village 1 league overland from Natchitoches. March 9, he encamped in the country of the Adai, and passed another Adai village on the 10th, noting that these people lived on the river only when the water was low. April 1, he encamped at the mouth of a river which he called Eiviere de I'Ours, the modern Sulphur River, along which he determined to make his way to the village of the Nassonites.
